Wooden briquettes made from softwood
Instead of burning firewood, more and more people are using wood briquettes. This solid fuel consists of dry wood chips that are pressed into a briquette under high pressure. Due to their very low residual moisture content, they have a higher calorific value than classic firewood.
The environmentally friendly alternative to firewood.
CO2-neutral heat generation
Wood briquettes are a suitable alternative to fossil fuels such as oil or gas. Burning them produces less ash than burning firewood. The ash from the stove can be used as fertiliser in your garden. So-called biogenic fuels such as wood briquettes burn CO2-neutrally. They therefore make an important contribution to CO2-neutral heat generation. Fuels release a certain amount of CO2-free when they are burnt. However, a fuel is considered CO2-neutral if it only emits as much carbon dioxide as the raw material has absorbed in advance. And this is the case with wood briquettes.
